Why Play Along?
Here at DrumFun we're giving drummers of all skill levels a fantastic set of tools for learning how to become well-rounded, successful drummers/musicians. Playing along with the bass lines of volumes 1 and 2 and the music minus drums backing tracks from Volumes 3, 4 , 5 & 6 is the best way we know of to help you develop key "working drummer" qualities- and create your own distinctive style and sound- which is sure to make you a valued member of any band.
Most importantly, we want you to have fun! Sure there’s a lot of hard work involved, but there’s also an incredible amount of joy and fulfillment to gain from it. It’s our opinion that there are few feelings in life that compare to the rush one gets from drumming, whether onstage in front of a crowd, listening back to a great take in the studio, or just getting in the zone in your practice space, losing yourself in the groove.Playing drums is fun...the better you play the more fun it is!!!

Product Review
The series of play-a-long CDs that Spencer Strand produced entitled "Turn It Up And Lay It Down"is a MUST OWN collection for every serious drummer that wants to learn how to play well with others.
This 6 volume series covers a wide range of musical styles from Rock to Jazz and Latin/Afro-Cuban to Funk and Heavy Metal.
These tools are invaluable for the student who can't seem to find available band mates at the drop of a hat.
I use these CD's all the time with all of my students and have worn out several copies!
After only a few weeks working with these tools, I can see marked progress in all of my students playing.
The grooves played on these CDs are very musical and performed to a click track which helps the student develop their inner clock. This is one of the most practical ways of developing a drummers skill in being able to make music with other musicians.
Playing along to CDs of bands that you love is also a great way to learn, but is inherently limited due to the recorded drum tracks already on them.
With "Turn It Up And Lay It Down", YOU are the drummer on the song... so you have the flexibility and freedom to create innumerable beats with the bass, guitar, and horn lines without feeling confined by a previously recorded drum performance.
These CDs help develop the students creativity as well as their sense of time while maintaining a practical approach to playing songs.
I highly recommend them.
